Born in Casablanca, Morocco, and of French/Australian origin, Yasmina uses the global stage as the inspiration for her contemporary photographic collages.

 

Through her works, Yasmina explores Abstract Realism – how reality and the abstract may comfortably mesh together in the photographic medium.

 

Using original photos taken by Yasmina, each collage embodies two images in parallel sequence, leading the eye to constantly shift perspective and giving the works an inherent dynamic. The gentle interplay between the entwined images give the works a dynamic layering of meaning, context and aesthetic mood.

 

The collages, printed on large stretched canvases, exude a sense of inquisition, holding the viewers’ interest.

 

The urban and natural landscapes of the world are key themes explored – from Paris to Phuket to Kings Cross, Sydney.
