Danae Natsis

Born in Athens and raised in Sydney, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (COFA) and have previously worked as a prop maker and arts administrator. Rigorously researched social issues are often the starting point for my work as a jeweller. I tend to engage with egalitarian themes interwoven with a fascination for history, a melancholy nostalgia and personal narratives — without compromising wearability and a strong aesthetic.

The Open Cut rings visually reference the physical form of diamond mines and are a commentary on the role of blood diamonds in the jewellery industry and the environmental impact of mining.
