Bernadette Smith has been a practising artist and art educator for over 20 years. She is represented in international art collections both corporate and institutional. Bernadette has a Master of Fine Arts from San Francisco Art Institute, USA and currently lives in Lake Macquarie, Australia. Her art practice has included painting, photography and film. Bernadette’s photography, both documentary and experimental, has challenged nature’s exile, globalisation and the postmodern spiritual void. Her abstract painting explores the power of the unmediated artist gesture and the materiality of impasto paint. In 2009 she was selected for the Florence Biennale.
